WELCOME TO SIMS 2021!

April 24, 2021

10:30 AM

The Frances Lehman Loeb Art Center Student Advisory Committee is excited to welcome you to the first ever Students in the Museum Summit (SIMS)! On this page you will find the Summit Zoom Link and Schedule of Events.

About SIMS 2021

Students in the Museum Summit (SIMS) aims to connect student groups in peer academic museums across campuses in order to create a network of student groups for exchanging ideas, learning from one another, and fostering community. Although the pandemic has removed the option to have on-campus visits, we have been presented with the opportunity to convene several college/university museum groups in the virtual space. Moreover, the need for this event is especially critical now as student engagement in the museum is no exception to the ways in which the pandemic has shifted the ways we connect with one another. As such, the Student Committee proposes this meeting as a point of connection during increased isolation and to ask the following: How has our work changed during this crisis? And what is its future beyond this moment? We envision this virtual meeting as an opportunity for students to network with and learn from their student group peers.

Our one-day event will include introductions of our groups, meetings between student members of our institutions, and discussion groups on specific topics that are relevant to our work.

Questions? Comments? Concerns? Please email us at loebcommittee@vassar.edu.

We look forward to seeing you!

Please click the link above to access the event. SIMS will take place exclusively on this Zoom link throughout the day.
